CUPE 503 Office Operations

Our 503 Office Operations continue with staff working from home. Staff are available to provide services to members seamlessly and can be reached by calling our general office number at 613-230-2456 or you can email [email protected]. If you require a Shop Steward for representation meetings please contact Heather at our office and she can connect you with a steward. 

New! CUPE 503 Members Telephone Town Hall

On Tuesday, April 27th 2021 at 7pm your Executive will be hosting a CUPE 503 Membership Telephone Town Hall. We will be providing key updates and will also have a Question & Answer Session for members. To Register for the Telephone Town Hall to receive a call direct from the town hall provider you must email Heather at [email protected] before Friday, April 23rd at 4:30pm with your Full Name, Employer and Telephone Number you wish to receive the call to. You can download the full poster for your workplace HERE.

City of Ottawa Inside Outside Collective Agreement Bargaining

On April 14th the CUPE 503 Inside Outside Bargaining Team met with the employer and a Ministry of Labour appointed Conciliator. The parties were not able to reach a tentative agreement. CUPE 503 is holding a number of arbitration dates for May and June to move forward the outstanding items to Arbitration for an award. 

City of Clarence Rockland Collective Agreement Bargaining

The City of Clarence Rockland Bargaining Team and the employer have reached a tentative agreement for the CUPE 503 members in the City of Clarence-Rockland. A mail-in ratification vote is now moving forward. Clarence Rockland Members will receive a summary of the proposed changes negotiated to the collective agreement and a ballot with a return envelope. The Bargaining Team will be holding a Zoom meeting for Clarence Rockland members on Wednesday, May 5th at 7:00pm and registration details are included in the mailing you will receive by Canada Post.  

Ottawa Public Library Collective Agreement Bargaining

The OPL Bargaining Team has hosted two ratification of demands meetings on Monday, April 19th for CUPE 503 members in the Ottawa Public Library Agreement. Bargaining commences with the employer starting April 20th and we have dates scheduled throughout the end of April and May. 

City of Ottawa Part-time Recreation & Culture Collective Agreement Bargaining

Our Bargaining Team has been established and will be finalizing the membership survey to develop proposals. Given the number of transitions with this particular unit and COVID-19 it is more important than ever for the Local to have your PERSONAL email address and we ask that members contact Heather at [email protected] to be added to our e-mail list. We will be completing a mail out as well as an email blast with the survey link. 

Embassy West Retirement Residence

The CUPE 503 Embassy West Bargaining Team  held the virtual ratification of demands meeting on March 10th and bargaining has commenced with the employer and dates have confirmed through the end of April.

Forest Hill

A ratification of demands meeting has been set for April 22nd 2021 and bargaining dates have been confirmed for the end of April with the CUPE 503 Bargaining Team. 

Sandfield Place

The survey for our CUPE 503 members working at Sandfield Place is currently underway with a closing date of April 26th at 4pm. The Sandfield Place bargaining team is scheduled to review the survey results and a ratification of Demands meeting has been scheduled for May 7th. A notice will be going out to the membership with the details on how to join the virtual meeting. Bargaining dates with the employer have been confirmed for mid-May.

Champlain LHINS Members

After hosting two virtual town hall meetings and conducting votes on whether or not CUPE 503 members wish to proceed with returning to a central table with Ontario Health. We have communicated the results of the vote to CUPE National who will be taking next steps and we will provide an update to the membership of where things land with the other CUPE LHINS units from across the province.

We will continue to use the website for monthly membership updates on bargaining and office operations. As COVID-19 continues building our membership email reach is a key priority and we encourage all members to provide their PERSONAL email to Heather at [email protected]. This will ensure timely communications and also ensure our office operations are in compliance with public health recommendations.
