Bargaining Updates:
Embassy West Retirement Residence:
On April 24th 2024 the CUPE 503 Bargaining Team met with the provincially-appointed Conciliator and the Employer and bargaining reached an impasse. The outstanding matters for the new collective agreement will be referred to Interest Arbitration. The Parties are working on selecting an Arbitrator and a date for the Interest Arbitration to take place.
Ottawa Humane Society:
An Arbitration date to hear the outstanding items for this round of negotiations has been set for September 30th 2024.
City of Clarence Rockland:
Your Bargaining Team has had 14 days of bargaining so far with dates last week on July 29-30-31 and August 1st 2024. Negotiations continue to be difficult. Although we have continued to make progress, your Bargaining Team and the Employer have not reached a Tentative Agreement. Your Bargaining Team has taken the next step in the process of filing for Conciliation with the Ministry of Labour. What this means is that a Ministry appointed conciliator will meet with the Parties and to work toward a negotiated agreement. A Ministry Conciliation Officer has been assigned to the file and scheduling dates is underway.
We will be hosting a CUPE 503 Clarence Rockland Members Meeting to discuss where things are with the negotiations in more detail and to respond to any questions or concerns our members have. The details of the meeting are below:

City of Ottawa Road & Parks Members Hybrid Meeting:
On Tuesday, August 27th 2024 between 6pm and 8pm we will be hsiting a hybrid meeting for City of Ottawa Roads & Parks members.
