The CUPE 503 City of Ottawa Inside/Outside Bargaining Team heads to the bargaining table to exchange proposals with the Employer on Wednesday, March 19th 2025.
On Monday, March 17th we will be hosting 2 Member Engagement Sessions to Review Bargaining Proposals. Members can join in-person at 1505 Carling Ave or on Zoom. The first session will be from 12 Noon to 2pm and the evening session will be 6-8pm. City of Ottawa Part-time Recreation & Culture and Summer Aquatics Members:
Your CUPE 503 Bargaining Team is awaiting the Employer to confirm bargaining dates that are currently on hold. As soon as these are confirmed we will be announcing Member Engagement Meetings for both Collective Agreements to review Bargaining Proposals.
CUPE 503 Members at Forest Hill Long Term Care Bargaining Update:
Our next Member Engagement Session to discuss our bargaining proposals will be Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 1:30pm to 5:00pm at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Kanata and we have confirmed bargaining dates with the Employer for March 26th and 27th 2025.
CUPE 503 Members at Embassy West Retirement Residence:
On April 24th 2024 the CUPE 503 Bargaining Team met with the provincially-appointed Conciliator and the Employer and bargaining reached an impasse. The outstanding matters for the new collective agreement will be referred to Interest Arbitration. The Parties have come to an agreement on the selection of an Arbitrator and the parties will meet July 10th 2025.
What should members expect who are joining in person?
The Training Centre will be set-up and there will be a camera that will have a full view of the room, and there will be a designated spot to speak that will have a microphone.
What should members expect who are joining by Zoom?
We will be using the waiting room feature on Zoom. Members will be asked to use their first name and last name on their Zoom profile so we can verify CUPE 503 membership. Members attending by Zoom should log in 10 minutes early. In order to ask a question we will be using the Raise Hand feature on Zoom.
For questions from Members attending in-person and online we will be alternating back and forth.
These meetings will NOT be recorded and the chat function Zoom will be disabled.
***Members who are on shift with the Employer should NOT be joining the CUPE 503 Membership Meeting. The Employer could take disciplinary action***
