October 24th, 2019 is the 19th annual Child Care Worker & Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day. This year’s theme is Champions for Children. This day recognizes the commitment, hard work and education of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and all staff who work with young children. Each year the day is proclaimed by municipalities and school boards across Ontario and marked in hundreds of child care centres.

Sponsored by Ontario’s labour movement, the day draws attention to the value of ECEs and child care workers in communities. It is also a great opportunity to call for better wages, working conditions and support for these workers.

CUPE 503 members deliver high quality child care in Municipal Child Care programs in both the City of Ottawa & the City of Clarence-Rockland. Our members go above and beyond each and every day providing inclusive early learning and care to children and families in their programs- truly Child Care Champions!
