COVID-19 Membership Update 30 March 2020

Dear CUPE 503 Members,

As we enter week three of the COVID-19 Pandemic we have continued to adjust how we are serving our members during this time.

CUPE 503 Staff and the assigned CUPE National Servicing Representatives continue to service our members by working remote to maintain physical distancing as per Ottawa Public Health’s recommendations and the State of Emergency declared both by the Province of Ontario and the City of Ottawa.

There are a few items we have had to extend and cancel in light of no social gatherings larger than 5 people being instituted this past weekend:

The Survey response deadline for the City of Ottawa Inside Outside Collective Agreement will be extended to April 10th 2020 from the original deadline of April 3rd 2020.

The CUPE 503 Shop Steward Meeting scheduled for April 21st at 5:30pm has been changed to a Telephone Town Hall meeting. Shop Stewards should check their personal emails for how to participate.

The CUPE 503 General Membership Meeting that was scheduled for April 21st at 7:00pm is cancelled. We exploring what technology options are available to us to ensure security and confidentiality for future meetings.

The City of Ottawa Inside/Outside Collective Agreement Ratification of Demands Drop-In the was scheduled for April 22nd is postponed as the Bargaining Dates for April 23rd and 24th have been cancelled.
