Membership Update: December 2023

A Holiday Solidarity Action for CUPE 503 in the HCCSS Bargaining Unit:

CUPE 503 members in the Champlain HCCSS face a unique situation after Bill 124 was overturned by the courts that capped their wage negotiations last round to 1% for a four-year period. They are back at the table with the Provincial Government in January for wage re-opener negotiations.

Take Action to send a message to the Provincial Government that these members deserve a fair wage increase. Click here for the Solidarity Action.

CUPE 503 Office Operations:

The CUPE 503 Office will be closed as of Friday, December 22nd and re-opening Tuesday, January 2nd 2024. We wish all of our members a very Happy Holiday Season and a Joyful New Year.

Conciliation was set for November 29th2023 between the parties and next steps are being discussed with the 503 Bargaining Team.

Other Bargaining in the coming months:

A central table is organized for the CUPE 503 HCCSS members with respect to the re-opener clause for wages as Bill 124 has been deemed by the courts as unconstitutional. Dates for the 503 Bargaining Team to head back to the central table have been confirmed January 24th & 25th 2024.

Early preparation is underway for the upcoming round of bargaining with the City of Clarence Rockland for the collective agreement expiring December 31st2023. Members can anticipate receiving updates regarding the timeline early in 2024.
