Bargaining Updates:
CUPE 503 Members at the Ottawa Public Library:
Your CUPE 503 Ottawa Public Library Bargaining Team has reached a Tentative Agreement with the Employer late Monday, June 16th. We are currently scheduling the Ratification Mail-in Process that will be sent to members home addresses. If you have not received Canada Post mailings from CUPE 503 or if you have moved please provide your current mailing address to Laviena Roa at our office. Her email address is l_roa@cupe503.com and the deadline to provide it will be Friday, June 27th. In addition to the mailout, we will be hosting 4 Hybrid Meetings to review the Tentative Agreement. CUPE 503 members at Ottawa Public Library will receive a communication by email that will include the key dates including a summary of the Tentative Agreement on Thursday, July 3rd 2025.
CUPE 503 Members at Ottawa Community Housing:
On Wednesday, June 25th between 6-8pm your Bargaining Team is hosting a Bargaining Update Hybrid Meeting to discuss next steps in the bargaining process. Details of the meeting have been sent to all CUPE 503 OCH members that we have personal email addresses for. Your Bargaining Team returns to the table with the Employer on July 23rd 2025.
CUPE 503 Members in the City of Ottawa Inside/Outside Collective Agreement:
On Thursday, June 26th between 6-8pm your Bargaining Team is hosting a Bargaining Update Hybrid Meeting to discuss next steps in the bargaining process. Details have been sent to CUPE 503 City of Ottawa Inside/Outside members that we have personal email addresses for. A reminder of the meeting and the Zoom link will be sent out Thursday, June 19th.
CUPE 503 City of Ottawa Part-time Recreation & Culture and Summer Aquatics Members:
Your CUPE 503 Bargaining Teams for both Collective Agreements had dates the week of June 9th with the Employer and things are progressing at the tables. A more detailed update will be provided once your Bargaining Team receives some additional information from the Employer.
Sandfield Place Long Term Care:
On Tuesday, June 24th between 1:30pm and 5:00pm you Bargaining Team is hosting a Review of Proposals Meeting at the CUPE Cornwall Office and on Zoom. Details have been sent to Sandfield Place members that we have personal email addresses for. Your Bargaining Team has their first date of bargaining scheduled with the Employer for July 3rd 2025.
Champlain Ontario Health atHome Bargaining Update:
Members are aware there are currently proceedings at the Ontario Labour Relations Board regarding representation for the unionized members in the new Ontario Health at Home structure. CUPE 503 was notified by CUPE National that until this matter is resolved at the Labour Board the bargaining process for your Collective Agreement that expires July 31st 2025 is paused.
CUPE 503 Members at Forest Hill Long Term Care Bargaining Update:
Your Bargaining Team had two dates with the Employer on March 26th and 27th 2025. A freely negotiated Collective Agreement has not been reached and the outstanding issues will be referred to Interest Arbitration for resolution. The Employer has since reached out to your Bargaining Team to return to the bargaining table and dates are currently being scheduled. This process can happen right up to the arbitration process.
Embassy West Retirement Residence:
On April 24th 2024 the CUPE 503 Bargaining Team met with the provincially-appointed Conciliator and the Employer and bargaining reached an impasse. The outstanding matters for the new collective agreement will be referred to Interest Arbitration. The Parties have come to an agreement on the selection of an Arbitrator and the parties will meet July 10th 2025.

Our CUPE 503 Annual Golf Tournament has been confirmed for Thursday, August 14th with a shotgun start at 1pm at Manderley on the Green. Registration will open Monday, July 14th at 9am at the CUPE 503 Office located at 1505 Carling Ave.
