Bargaining Updates:
City of Ottawa Aquatics:
An Interest Arbitration date to resolve the outstanding items for the Collective Agreement was held 17 October 2023 and now the matters are with the Arbitrator for a ruling that generally takes about 3 months.
Ottawa Public Library Collective Agreement Printing:
We have received the printed copies of the new OPL Collective Agreement. Booklets and they are available at our office for pickup. Our Office Hours at 1505 Carling Ave are 8:30am to 4:30pm so please pop by and pick up a copy and bring some to your workplace for your coworkers. Forrest Hill Long Term Care:
The Interest Arbitration date to resolve the outstanding items from bargaining has been set for December 18th 2023.
Embassy West Retirement Residence:
Embassy West Bargaining has commenced. The Bargaining Team is working to schedule additional dates with the Employer.
Sandfield Place:
An Arbitrator has been appointed by the Ministry of Labour and dates are currently being worked on between the parties.
Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group:
The Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement with the Employer. Ballots have been mailed to 503 members in the Collective Agreement and are due back Monday, October 30th at noon for the count to take place.
Ottawa Humane Society:
Bargaining commenced with the Employer mid-September. After several dates of negotiations the 503 Bargaining team made the decision to file for conciliation with the Ministry of Labour. A Conciliator has been assigned to the file and now dates are being coordinated between the parties to review the outstanding items.
Other Bargaining in the coming months:
A central table is being organized for the CUPE 503 HCCSS members with respect to the re-opener clause for wages as Bill 124 has been deemed by the courts as unconstitutional. Dates for the 503 Bargaining Team to head to the central table have been confirmed for early December.
