CUPE 503 Executive Elections: Nominations Report

The Election Committee comprised of Allison Reilly, (CUPE National Representative/Chief Electoral Officer), Krissy Vivarais (Sandfield Place), Mary Louise Wright (Ottawa Public Library) and Sherman Morrison (City of Ottawa) received nominations April 3, 2023, through April 5, 2023, during business hours, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., at CUPE Local 503, 1505 Carling Ave., Ottawa. 

Elections will be held for the following positions: 

Secretary-Treasurer: 

Carrie Lynn Poole-Cotnam 

Paul Sanchez 

35 hours salary – City of Ottawa (3 Positions):

Drew Carmichael 

Matthew Kennedy 

Joanne Madsen 

Adam Sauve 

Ottawa Public Library Representative: 

Nicholas Booth 

Chantal Ellichuk 

The following candidates have been acclaimed in the following positions: 

President: James Watson 

Vice-President: Wil Kelly 

Recording Secretary: Joan Keith 

40/42 hour Salary – City of Ottawa: Mike Britton; Melanie Poitras 

40 hour Wage – City of Ottawa: Ryan Britton; Tyler Ward; Jahlani Burke 

37.5 hour Salary – City of Ottawa: Chad Dashnay 

Other Than Full Time – City of Ottawa: Laviena Roa 

Champlain CCAC/LHIN/HCCSS: Brett Geneau 

Humane Society: Iona Guindon 

Part time Recreation and Culture: Janet McGeein

No nominations were received for the following position therefore the position remain vacant:

On April 26, 2023, ballots for the Local 503 elections will be mailed to your home address on file with the Local Union. 

Members who lay claim to not receiving a ballot by mail will, upon presentation of identification and signing of a statement of facts, receive a ballot and envelope at the office of Local 503, 1505 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, prior to May 12, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. 

Ballots are to be returned in the postage paid return envelope by mail so that it is received by Baker Tilley Ottawa LLP prior to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on May 16, 2023. Ballots may also be delivered by hand in the return envelope directly to Baker Tilley Ottawa LLP located at 301 Moodie Drive Suite 400, provided they are received by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on May 16, 2023. 

The results of the count will be forwarded to the President who will inform the membership prior to the June General Membership Meeting.
