Bargaining Updates:
City of Ottawa Inside/Outside Collective Agreement:
A communication with a City Inside/Outside Bargaining Update as well as a Summary of the Agreed to Items and next steps for the arbitration date of October 6th 2026 to deal with General Wage increases was sent out to all Inside/Outside members that we have personal email addresses for. Hybrid Membership Bargaining Update meetings are scheduled for next week and the Zoom links if members wish to join virtually are included in those communications.
Sandfield Place Long Term Care:
The Union has filed for a No Board and the parties have agreed to October 26th 2026 as an Interest Arbitration date and your Bargaining Team remains ready to return to the table to continue negotiations. The Union has also commenced the legal process with the Ministry of Labour regarding representation rights for Ted Laurier Place.
Forest Hill Long Term Care:
The Interest Arbitration date was held March 25th, 2026 for a new Collective Agreement for Forest Hill members. We are now awaiting the Arbitrator to provide the Interest Arbitration Award; this process usually takes up to 3-4 months.
Embassy West Retirement Residence:
Notice to Bargain has been served to the Employer to commence the bargaining process for the 4-year Collective Agreement expiring August 8th 2026.
Ottawa Humane Society:
Bargaining dates were with the Employer June 18th, 24th, 25th and July 6th and 13th. There are additional dates scheduled for early August and early September.
Other News:
CUPE 503 Golf Tournament:
We have 4 Spots still available for the Annual Golf Tournament scheduled for Thursday, August 13th at Manderley on the Green. Foursomes can register their teams at the CUPE 503 Office Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:00pm. The cost per foursome is $300.00 (cash only).
Solidarity Rally with Striking Workers in Ottawa:
There are 3 Unions on Strike in Ottawa and Today (Wednesday, July 15th, 4pm-5pm) there is a joint rally for PSAC-DCL 71250, CUPE 2772, and SEIU 2 at Wellington and Kent. Show your Solidarity with workers who are taking a stand to get a fair deal with their Employers.
