Bargaining Updates:

City of Ottawa Part-time Recreation & Culture:

The Employer has provided response package to the Local on June 22, 2022.  The Bargaining Team will be convened to review the package before the end of the month.

Sandfield Place Long Term Care: 

The Interest Arbitration date was May 27, 2022 and we have received the Arbitration Award for a two-year contract covering May 16, 2021 to May 15, 2023 with 1.5% increases for each year as well as some other improvements. A communication to Sandfield Place members that we have personal email addresses will be sent out with additional details.

Forest Hill Long Term Care:

Notice to Bargain has been provided to the Employer and the members of the Bargaining Team began preparation of Union proposals on June 8 and 9, 2022.

Champlain Ontario Health HCCSS (formally Champlain LHINS):

The Local has followed up with the Employer for bargaining dates with the Employer for the Local table and with the Provincial Election wrapped up the Union will be taking the position there is no need to delay moving forward.

Upcoming Important Dates:

CUPE 503 Golf Tournament: Thursday, August 18 with a shotgun start at 1pm we will be hosting our annual golf tournament at Manderley on the Green. Registration will open Monday, July 18, 2022 at 9am at the CUPE 503 office located at 1505 Carling Ave, Ottawa.

September General Membership Meeting: On Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 7pm we will be hosting our hybrid Membership Meeting with members able to attend in-person at 1505 Carling Ave or through Zoom.

Other Updates:

Advanced Shop Steward Training was held June 13 and 14 2022 with 21 participants.
